Warranty Terms & Conditions
Tires from the XBRI, LINGLONG, GOODRIDE, ADERENZA, DURABLE and SUNSET brands carry a five (5) year warranty against manufacturing defects, under the following terms and conditions.
This warranty covers eventual manufacturing defects in the tires we represent, for five (5) years counted from the manufacturing date identified by the last four (4) digits of the DOT serial number stamped on the tire's sidewall, or until the tire's remaining tread depth reaches the "TWI" (Tread Wear Indicator) — the maximum wear allowed for use on public roads, marked on the sidewalls —, whichever occurs first. If the tire is sold in its fifth year from the manufacturing date, the warranty will extend for the minimum period set out in the applicable regulations.
This warranty does not cover damage caused by accidents while driving, such as tears, cuts, impacts or punctures, nor damage caused by:
- Improper mounting or use of the tire: using tires, tubes or wheels that are inappropriate, in poor condition, or outside the technical specification in the vehicle manufacturer's owner's manual; using the tire in service conditions other than those recommended for that type of product; improper fitting; or deficient tire care.
- Repairs made to the tire.
- Wear caused by mechanical defects in the vehicle.
- Contact with chemical agents such as grease, oil, solvents or any other product that degrades the tire.
- Any type of accident affecting the wheel or the tires.
How the warranty works
If a tire becomes unusable due to a defect covered by this warranty, it will be replaced with a new tire, and the user will only pay the prorated share of the new tire's current price. To establish that prorated share, the tire's remaining useful life is determined by measuring the tread groove depth and comparing it to the original depth, crediting the user with the unused percentage up to the point the manufacturing defect appeared. The warranty does not cover mounting, balancing or tax charges. The tire and the warranty must be presented at a SUNSET S.A.C.I.S. store, together with the original sales invoice.
