Libertadores U-20: Flamengo crowned twice in Asunción, with XBRI on the shirt
Paraguay hosted one of the most important chapters in Flamengo U-20's history. On March 16, 2025, at the Estadio Arsenio Erico in Asunción, the red-and-black youngsters beat Palmeiras in the final of the CONMEBOL Libertadores U-20 to win the tournament for the second time, becoming the only club to lift it twice.
For XBRI, master sponsor of Flamengo U-20, that title had a special flavour: it was won in the country where we support drivers, hauliers and farmers every day, with branches in Asunción, Ciudad del Este, Ypané and Minga Guazú.
A high-voltage final at the Arsenio Erico
The decider against Palmeiras was as intense as expected. Felipe Lima opened the scoring for Flamengo early in the second half and the opponents equalised minutes later. After a 1-1 draw in regular time, the title was settled from the penalty spot: 3-2 to the Garotos do Ninho.
The result repeated the feat of 2024, when Flamengo won its first Libertadores U-20 by beating Boca Juniors 2-1 in Maldonado, Uruguay.
2026: a third straight final
In the 2026 edition, played in Quito, Ecuador, Flamengo showed its consistency once again. In the semi-finals it beat Olimpia, one of the giants of Paraguayan football, 2-1 with goals from Ryan Roberto and Pablo Lúcio, reaching its third final in a row.

On March 22, against Chile's Santiago Wanderers, the match ended 1-1 and the champion was decided on penalties, where the Chilean side won 5-4. A painful defeat that does not overshadow a striking fact: three consecutive Libertadores U-20 finals, a record very few clubs on the continent can claim.
The showcase of South American talent
The Libertadores U-20 brings together the continent's best academies and is the gateway to professional football for many players. Being present on that stage, alongside a club that reaches the final again and again, is XBRI's way of supporting the talents who will shape the future of the game.
